I watched a documentary about Lviv, where they said that Bandera supporters are everywhere and that if you speak Russian, they might hit you in the face. So, I went to Lviv (just passing through, on my way to Truskavets), and when I got off at the train station, I heard both Russian and Ukrainian being spoken. I went on excursions to Uzhhorod and other places, and there were no problems either. In fact, there are more Hungarians and other nationalities there than Ukrainians.
