Gurni showed up with 3 stacks and Crag Hack was in the tavern, but the wolves were not upgraded. On week 1, day 1 I broke through to the adjacent zone, on week 1, day 2 I captured the town there. On week 1, day 4 I first saw the opponent via scouting. I wandered around the respawn/adjacent zone, had money problems. By week 2, day 1 a situation developed where the opponent broke through to the same adjacent zone and was half a day away from the Citadel, while Gurni was standing near the exit to the second adjacent zone. I didn't want to give up a week's growth (bear + 4 birds), so I attacked and was soundly defeated.
