I decided to refresh the section a bit by posting one of my recent maps ;). I'll say right away that this map isn't quite typical for single-player: more precisely, great efforts were made to enhance the AI in every possible way, attempting to make it a worthy opponent for any player.
Initially, interesting quests will help the player develop quickly and prepare, and then the war itself begins, and no secondary quests will help (distract) you anymore.
In fact, at the moment, the player is ~10 times weaker than the computer opponents (taking into account secondary quests). Nevertheless, your task will be to play skillfully and quickly, and the opponent, I hope, will resist you with all its might.
There may also be questions about one of the main tasks, namely - about the deadline for invading the lands of the Dwarves -- 2 months. This was done deliberately. The thing is that, considering all the numerous enhancements given to the AI, it starts developing stronger and stronger on almost any difficulty level, and if within two months you fight it under conditions where victory is quite possible for you (it might even be too easy), then unfortunately, after this period, each of at least eight dwarves will have a huge army, including only dragons – 15-20 of them – and completing the game will become impossible.
Anyway, I wish everyone an enjoyable game! If it's too easy, well... But I hope that the game will still be competitive, and the AI, if not winning, will at least be able to wage guerrilla warfare by capturing its own and your cities (this is also provided) ;)
