Regarding the other points, you have accurately described the reasons why I myself don't see a future for WT. But specifically, CIS 2014 should still be held on it, as even in its current state, WT is better suited for this task. At least because it allows playing XL+U and mirror matches.

What's the point of all this dialogue? There is an initiative group (organizer and judges) who will make a decision on the version, and then it's up to each person: to go or not to go. Moreover, for most people, the version is not a determining factor in making a decision.
The leader is outlining everything in an interesting way, but from his own perspective... By the way, reading his posts, it's ultimately unclear who is criticizing whom: the SOD organizers or him within the WT community. There is no truth in this matter, and there will not be. Although, not quite, there are always two truths, and each person has their own.
But regarding the dispute about the CIS version (I wrote my opinion above), it's funny to read the argument from people who, in principle, do not plan to attend the session. What's your business? You should just walk away.
