Personally, I was most interested in the balancing of secondary skills in WT, including the schools of magic. The monotony of SoD in this regard is depressing. You gather 6-7 essential skills, and that's all you need. But if you're unlucky and get a few useless skills (and most of them are), the hero is ruined. In WT, there are practically no useless skills, and there are a huge number of upgrade options. This makes the gameplay much more interesting.
However, it seems they went a little overboard with this. Classes, the initial distribution of skills, and the range of direct fire in ballistics – these are all not quite right. I hope that in HotA they will implement a balance of skills, but within the framework of game logic and common sense.
