I reloaded, made my move, saved, opened the map, and saw that this traveler had been defeated by the guard! Which, frankly, pleased me very much. :)

:) I checked the saves. Everything is fine. My mistake was that I got distracted by a middle village on my territory. But what's cool is that I only got on the boat late, on day 11. And I landed on day 12. So I was lucky that I managed to defeat everyone there in one day. I won't be too far behind you in the personal ranking.
