Surprisingly, no one greeted the chief wizard upon his arrival, and even more surprisingly, there was absolutely no one in sight for Ferus and Templacos.
"This is strange," Templacos said, clearly worried; it seemed that something like this had not happened before. "Let's go to the living quarters; Brunhilda should be there."
When they reached their destination, they saw a large crowd of wizards gathered around a red-haired girl and... the corpse of the warden. The sorceress held the weapon of a brother of the order, and blood dripped from its blade, which once belonged to its former owner.
"What happened here?" asked the voice of the chief wizard as he walked through the crowd of onlookers.
"Don't come near!" the girl replied in a commanding tone. "This creep harassed me and threatened that if I didn't share my bed with him, he would tell the order that I was practicing demonology, and then they would execute me!"
The wizard remained silent and looked at Ferus with concern and fear in his eyes.
