Grindan should have taken the Dragon Utopia in the center without a doubt on the very next day.

Well, it just didn't work out. There were only 20 vives in the army, and not much mana was left after the Dimension Door. There could have been serious losses in the Dragon Utopia; they could have dealt full shalk (resist boots and a sphere are essentially shalk for us), and being left without mana in the desert is suicide. After the Dragon Utopia slipped away from under our noses and Mepha died, we had to somehow bring Zhabarkas into the fight, who looked quite decent. Of course, it would have been difficult to catch up with speed when we had 1 hero with Dimension Door while they passed the Speaker's Hat around, but there were chances.

And a violation in the tournament also cannot be forgiven, even if it is a fan tournament.

Well, this is a matter of principle for me. If you demand victory because of a minor slip-up that didn't decide anything at all, then what is such a victory for? Especially since they mentioned it themselves, rather than it being discovered after reviewing the saves. I try to win in the game, not by catching random micro-violations. I'm not claiming this is right, but that is my position.
