Black Ice

Ferus's eyes followed three young men, armed only with ordinary swords and nothing else; there was no need to even mention armor. They were harassing an older man, who, judging by all appearances, was the innkeeper. The appearance of a well-armed man clearly disconcerted the young men.
They left the innkeeper and walked away, one of them shouting, "Remember, old man, Count Theodore doesn't forgive debts; this is your last chance."
When they were gone, the man calmed down and turned to Ferus.
"How can I help you? I am the owner of this inn."
