Favio touched upon a relevant and unpleasant topic for many. While there's still time, I'll briefly outline my thoughts. The people who currently position themselves as a proud and free nation have never actually been that. Throughout its history, Ukraine has been under the control of various powers. It has managed to assert itself a couple of times, but the course of events quickly put an end to that. Moreover, in one case, a person even became a national hero, although by today's standards, he would undoubtedly be considered a traitor. Finally, they waited... According to the script of the series, happiness should have arrived, but in reality, things haven't quite worked out. New hetmans have been fighting for ideals for about 20 years, but the overall situation remains unchanged. For example, right now, they're showing a ridiculous beer commercial on TV – it's like saying, "We're jerks, but we're the right kind of jerks." I'm listening to the commercial, and I see parallels: Jews are cunning and calculating, Germans are pedantic and meticulous, etc. But who are Ukrainians? They're just the guys from the commercial... and history clearly demonstrates this. As Professor Preobrazhensky said, "Klim Chugunkin." And that's extremely sad.
