Okay, I got it. The Assassins used a double kill: Shiva killed Arandor-Faris, and Darkness killed Yashur-Executor. Vesper beheaded Metzger. An Emissary converted someone to their side. VisTrita, I think, blocked Markgraf. Only the Guardian and Metzger can defend us, but the latter couldn't save anyone. So, I think Grace visited the Guardian the previous day, which is why he managed to reach both Tox and Ursula. It's unclear where Faris's block is, and where Luna's healing is.
