Hello. I think the best way to prioritize learning how to play is as follows:
1. Hot-seat mode (where you and your opponent sit side-by-side and watch each other play, comment, and offer advice). That's how I learned with my brother.
2. Watch recordings of other players' games, preferably with commentary, and try to "beat" computer opponents (if you can't win against the computer, there's definitely no hope of winning against a real opponent).
3. Try to find a patient teacher who will (probably without much enthusiasm) explain everything.
This is just my opinion, but the "skill" of playing Heroes is like the experience of pilots. You can study the theory for five years, watch all the streams, and know "all the features," but without real gameplay, it's all meaningless.
