I would personally vouch for you, provided everyone else agrees, so that VDV would accept your best final save. Actually, why not accept an even better final save from someone if they happened to replay and improve it. You could even include this in the rules. That is, you can submit a save no more than twice. Well, that's exactly why we have such cases :)
So, think about it – anyone could be in that player's shoes.
