Personally, I disliked Faidaen the most. He's some kind of fanatic butcher, even worse than Alaric, even though he fought on the right side. Because of him, two of the most important heroes died – Tieru and Nicholas the vampire (regarding Nicholas, this is just my opinion). Regarding Tieru: Alaron said that Tieru needed him, so why waste so much time defending Cyris Talla? Did he think he was irreplaceable, as if no one else could protect it? He could have fought the Necromancers for a while, established a presence around the capital, freed a general, and let him continue fighting the undead... But no, Faidaen wouldn't rest until he had driven all the surrounding undead back into the ground. But if he had arrived even a week earlier, who knows, maybe Tieru would have survived... Regarding Nicholas: Faidaen perfectly understood that Nicholas hadn't taken control of Irollan of his own free will and that he was being controlled by Markel, but no, for him, Nicholas was enemy number one, not Markel... Couldn't he at least have tried to find a compromise (by killing Markel first), especially since Faidaen hesitated before killing Nicholas, which means that Markel wasn't his only enemy (although clearly, he was the main one). If Faidaen had eliminated Markel (even just by physically killing him, without incinerating him), I highly doubt that Nicholas would have continued to fight, and he might even have joined Arantir later, and together they could have not only defeated Holyfire, but also crushed the entire "red" Griffin Empire... (although it's debatable how events would have unfolded if Nicholas hadn't been killed a second time; he's a very contradictory hero, so everyone sees his importance differently). I'm not denying that for most people, he's just a pawn, but I still believe that he could have provided enormous support in the fight against the demons if Faidaen hadn't made such a mistake. In short, I'm disappointed that a hero like Faidaen survived... (I would have buried him just for those terrible poems). P.S. I apologize for the huge amount of text...
