Siberian Championship in Heroes of Might and Magic III.

Ideally, I envision a system like this: 9 participants. 8 play an Olympic-style tournament in 3 rounds for the right to play against Lizard, while he fully enjoys drinks with DD, Dust, and others who aren't playing, walks around, shows off cheaply, and teaches everyone how to play, rudely insulting and swearing in the style of ATG:D.
