Definitely, as the game progresses, the dwarves' castle development plan becomes more similar to that of humans; they require a lot of resources: wood, ore, and crystals. Also, the energy rune is definitely essential; without it, they can't survive, as most of their units, or rather, the mountain defenders, have a movement speed of only 3-4 cells. Therefore, they need a lot of wood, and the dragon form rune is also very useful.
