- the number of points awarded for defeating a player with fewer ship decks = (n1+n2)/2,
where n1 is the number of ship decks of player 1
n2 is the number of ship decks of player 2

according to this formula, it is more advantageous and, naturally, easier for a 4-deck ship to win against a 3-deck ship than against a 1-deck ship:
(4+3)/2=3.5
(4+1)/2=2.5

I suggest:
formula for victories over players with fewer decks: 1+0.25*(n1-n2)
where n1 is the number of decks of the ship with more decks
n2 is the number of decks of the ship with fewer decks

4-deck ship defeated 3-deck ship = 1+0.25*(4-3)=1.25
4-deck ship defeated 2-deck ship = 1+0.25*(4-2)=1.5
4-deck ship defeated 1-deck ship = 1+0.25*(4-1)=1.75

3-deck ship defeated 2-deck ship = 1+0.25*(3-2)=1.25
3-deck ship defeated 1-deck ship = 1+0.25*(3-1)=1.5

2-deck ship defeated 1-deck ship = 1+0.25*(2-1)=1.25
