If you break a rule, then it's up to your opponent to decide whether to forgive that violation or not. And to admit that you broke a rule, while simultaneously posting yourself as the winner, is, in my opinion, not worthy behavior.
(I myself have also broken rules accidentally, and opponents forgave me)
