and imagine the opposite situation. you pick up an air book (say at 117), which you were banking on since 111, and there is no Dimension Door in it... then what?! I honestly can't imagine how one could settle this politely.

I checked later -- there was no dd in the air book
actually, in that game situation, it didn't change a thing
simply put, there wasn't enough mana to use it, and then the game ended))

but what if I had used it? :) obviously, asking the opponents for permission to do so is kind of not quite right :D but what else can you do? suppose there was an air book instead of a water book (or Pandora's box with air), and there's no dd in there -- the actions taken in that case should have been identical! but stopping the game and demanding a replay when this is discovered is not "comme il faut" -- in that situation, the opponents had already done almost everything for the victory.... now if it were possible to gain some traction and even pull through, they would have agreed to a replay themselves, even with the same castles :)
so now this is a matter of "why" discussions -- so as not to run into it again in the future))

Put yourself in Vova's shoes - he spent moves on something useful, possibly lost part of his army, and then it turns out you can't use it

I wasn't counting on dd one bit when I went for it)))
but the fact is -- it's in the book! would it be conscious bug-using if it had come to that? especially since I was sure that everyone has it this way (and there was no possibility to check at that moment) well, demanding judge sanctions on those grounds -- burning a valuable spell = last chance :D
