I, for example, see a benefit, at least for you (and maybe even for Pete), and I think this is an incompetent approach to the draw.

So, what's the benefit? It seems like you're one of those who likes to complicate things... We're not trying to make things more complicated; we're trying to play in this format for the first time... to have fun and not just focus on the result, although winning would be nice too...
Since it's not that easy to run in this format, we're trying to make the game as comfortable as possible. If something doesn't suit someone, I can add that everything is voluntary here. If the inconveniences make you not want to participate, just let us know, and we'll figure it out...
