HoMM3 HD is a mod (add-on) for the game Heroes of Might and Magic 3.

The Castle has turned "gray." Both players were using version 3.46.

A save file where the Castle is already gray would really help.
So, if this happens again in the future, before interacting with the glitched object, make a save. If you have a save, please share it.

baratorch, the game resolution is 864x664, and the result is shown in the picture. The modes are 32-bit MMX (stretchable) and 32-bit True (stretchable), respectively. The desktop resolution is 1680x1050.
Maybe I misunderstood something...

Just set it to 1062x664, which the launcher suggests (it suggests this option for a reason).
If you set a lower horizontal resolution, you'll get black bars; if you set a lower vertical resolution, the hero and town lists won't be fully displayed (they won't fit).
But if you need the minimum resolution without black bars, manually enter 960x600. You can manually enter anything, even 1111x1111.
