Here, the primary consideration should be the overall duration of the game. It is quite challenging to gather four independent players together (more difficult than in a 2x2 tournament, as there the two captains primarily coordinate with each other). Therefore, the game should be played in a maximum of two sessions, each lasting 3-4 hours. We can estimate the average game duration using a timer of 16+8+1. Let's assume the average end date of the game is 137 (20 days), and each player participates in an average of 20 battles. We calculate the average game duration: 16*4 + 8*4*20 + 20*4 = 784 minutes = 13 hours. And this doesn't even include the time spent on battles between players. I think that not everyone will be able to gather four players for two sessions of 6.5 hours or more. I believe that a blitz format of 10+5+1 would be optimal.
