I hope that the "unnoticed glitch" that "no one noticed" is what I was pointing out during the game.
Dark started passing his turn before the disconnect occurred.
Therefore, I concluded that he must have normal autosaves on his computer, and a normal auto.gm2 file that could not possibly be corrupted. Because after the disconnect, the heroes might have done something, but that would all be gm1 data.
As a reminder, the end of the turn and the disconnect can be seen in Dima_Surmey's stream recording, starting around 26:00.
The moment of passing the turn and the disconnect is at 0:28:20.
Then we see (0:42:42) Darkello looking in the save folder and seeing an autosave.gm2 file there with a creation time of 19:15.
For some reason, when it was time to load the save, Darkello started loading not gm2, but gm1, which, of course, was not the correct save.
When I pointed out to Amil on his stream that something strange was happening, because Dark should have gm2, and Amil told Dark to load gm2, there was some confusion, which ended with:
voilà, at 0:48:44, Darkello loads autosave.gm2, but the time is now 18:56.
Where did the 19:15 save go? I didn't understand it then, and I still don't understand it now.
However, even if this wasn't an intentional substitution of the autosave, the very idea of not replaying the battle exactly as it was played the first time, and the attempts to do something about it, were enough for me.
