However, I believe there is no connection between the monk and the novice, as monks were quite capable combat archers, while novices were support healers. Also, if you recall the phrase in the tavern in Heroes III: "Fanatics are creatures of pure energy." This suggests a connection with the Glorias. Overall, it's ambiguous, in my opinion.
However, a connection has been made from the angels of Heroes V to the seraphs of Heroes VI, which is not entirely accurate. I think that during the conceptual design of the warrior (novice), the idea was to ensure that there was a representative of the clergy in the army. In other words, they transformed the essence of the monk, as there was no longer a need for that unit. Even a connection has been made from beasts to hunters, although they have completely different combat roles (this is just to illustrate the roles: "monks were quite capable combat archers, while novices were support healers").
