It's even simpler: he clearly has a fresh version of QIP installed, which has a separate list of ICQ contacts and a separate list of QIP contacts, which was activated during registration, but he doesn't know how to connect to ICQ. And, by the way, 2005 QIP is not outdated at all - it works perfectly without a single glitch since installation, including offline messages, which many complain about, saying they don't arrive.

dig deeper, theseveshain is right. My new QIP is divided into two parts: QIP and ICQ. QIP is activated, but ICQ is not. At the same time, two days before this, the 2010 QIP was working, but it stopped working a day later, and the 2005 QIP started working, and after that, the 2005 QIP stopped working, but the 2010-2012 version started working, but only with a few contacts. ICQ was installed separately and doesn't connect at all, so I think the problem is with the ICQ account, but I have no idea how to restore it
