Might & Magic X: Legacy

It depends on what you consider "going nowhere." Most likely, the spells of these magic types will be scattered across the seven schools of Ashan.

Healing and blessings will definitely be in the Light magic, berserk in the Fire magic, regeneration in the Earth magic... and so on.

The spells will definitely remain. No RPG can do without a healer. It's just that in parts 6-8, there were clearly defined schools of priests with a completely different focus than the elemental ones. By scattering the spells across different schools, they are destroying the very focus of the path. The elements were for attack, Ego was for defense, and they didn't overlap. Now, the schools will overlap with each other, and it's not even certain whether there will be a clearly defined defensive school.
