These gargoyles are made of a material that resembles glass. However, this is a misconception; quartz has completely different properties. The mineral is opaque to magic and does not refract sunlight in a way that would blind enemies, but instead, due to the mystical (and piezoelectric) connection of quartz with the element of air, they strike the target with an electric discharge upon attack. This effect also enhances other lightning attacks. The gargoyles themselves do not receive any damage from this.
