Thanks to Ominous for helping to uncover the tavern's secret. We started generating data even before Sav's post, but we arrived at exactly the same conclusion. Just like with speeding up the game, the heroes who appear in the tavern have their initial strength, which depends on the army they were supposed to have at the start, and not the army they actually have now.
