Sanctuary - "Defeat and Victory" [Campaign 4 - Mission 2]

Guys, I waited for a million neutral units to spawn on this map. Should I build up an army to defeat them and gain a lot of experience for my dynasty, or should I just ignore them?

When I played through the Haven campaign last month, I intentionally let the neutral units accumulate so I could develop my dynasty's weapons. However, I received much less experience for defeating the large mobs than I expected. It seems like there's some kind of mechanism in place to prevent excessive experience farming. So, I advise you not to wait until you can defeat this unit and move on to the next mission.
