I wanted to call an ambulance for myself after installing a version supposedly 12.16 - which Opera 12.15 offered me, notifying me of an update. Usually, I don't click "download and install", but go to the official website and download the international version from there... That's been my habit for a long time. ) Even when confirming the file download, I noticed that the name didn't mention 12.16. Like something with 15 in it. Anyway, after installation, 2 additional shortcuts appeared (on the desktop and the quick launch bar), and something opened up. After examining it, I felt sick. There wasn't much to examine, as it essentially resembles something if you completely castrate Google Chrome. I went to the site again looking for a normal Opera. I decided to watch the video "See Opera in action", to understand whether this is reality, or some enemies dumped some junk onto the server for download. After watching, my anxiety increased, but... Below the video I saw: "Looking for the previous version? Download Opera 12.". I took advantage of that offer, and as a result I got version 12.16. In short, in the coming hours I have no time to gather info, but after quickly glancing at the first posts on Operafan, in the discussion thread of the 15th crap - I realized that only the hope that somewhere there is info that Opera will not die and will be supported and developed, keeps me from drowning my consciousness entirely in sorrowful feelings. And in parallel, there will exist the created ChromeOpera, relevant for the current dumbing-down, and the future dumbing-down generation of the planet.

The old Opera on the Presto engine (12.x-line) will not be developed. For some time, updates will be released to close found security vulnerabilities, but even regarding the stability of the released updates, there is no hope here anymore, as the old team (about 90 employees) has been fired.
The new chromopera or operium without the ability to customize the interface (customizable context menus with the ability to insert JS) is impossible to use - a blank for dummies.
