I wanted to share something interesting: we all love elephants (thanks to one of us ;)). And recently, mammoth remains were found at the bottom of the Volga River: Volga River may conceal mammoth remains
Microscopic analysis of the found remains revealed that the mammoths that inhabited the territory of present-day Volgograd Oblast were not covered in thick fur. This suggests that the climate here was warmer and milder a hundred thousand years ago.
And yet, they became extinct... :(
