Confirmed. There was an external dwelling of eyes, which I managed to portal in the main and secondary, beat off a couple of artifacts, and there was nothing more to do on my spawns.
At the start of the 2nd week I broke through through the bushes to the snow, to the conflux, bought Sephirofor there with learned bolt in the secondary Inferno, and headed into the zone toward the opponent. There, surprisingly, the passage from his swamp zone was not broken, and a Griffin Conservatory (3rd level) stood there, where I successfully got myself killed (had no development at all and lacked magic). The opponent, on the other hand, power-leveled nicely, broke through the 2nd guard, and got into the treasure zone.
I could have played it beautifully: having KC already close to 10, building another 2 levels in Inferno, and if Armageddon had been there (in addition to the fire I already had), the huge stack of eyes would have just held the blow in the first round, and then overpowering them would have been no trouble. But it didn't work out :).
