Both of us took 2 restarts. The game gave us a small restart, and we were also short on money.
The location was convenient, in the center of the map, with 3 roads leading to other restarts. I didn't know where to go until I spotted the Red Observatory at the bottom.
I found the Swamp Castle and a hidden stash of Basilisks. I decided to leave my own and harass (secondary - Swamp). One day wasn't enough after clearing the crypts, so I built a Prefecture in both castles, placed Mages in the main one, and a Stronghold. In the secondary castle, I continued to produce Basilisks and found another hidden stash of Basilisks, but I didn't build a castle there, as it was too expensive. On the 3rd week, I almost completely changed all my resources, bought the main forces of my army, cleared the Beehives (+12 Griffins in the army), and went to look for my opponent. I thought he was going to win 100%, so I decided not to delay. I wanted to go through the dungeon to my opponent, but Pit Lords were blocking the way, guarding the green portal. I cleared them out and emerged on the other side of the portal, where Snipers were guarding it. I noticed that they were buying Griffins. I realized that there was a castle of my opponent nearby, so I destroyed the Snipers, but didn't reach the castle. My opponent quickly bought an army. I thought he would reach his main castle before I reached his. He didn't! I got lucky, took the castle, lost some Golems (+90), and settled in my opponent's castle, using Griffins to move my army. My opponent took a long time to arrive + another week, and another purchase, and then the battle: my opponent attacked the castle. :smile51:
