A THREAD FOR NEWCOMERS!

Is there any information about what the AI takes from chests, and does it allow neutral creatures to escape? How? There is no Earth book on the map; I checked using the search function, and it is disabled in the map options. However, the hero still found an Earth book somewhere. How?
