Hive Leader 2: Fall of the Empire

How do I complete the mages' quest (dark side)? It seems I'm completely stuck, as no one has asked this question here, but I can't figure out where to get the required slaves (all creature dwellings change even if it's not the main hero who captures them). Another question about the rebel town. After completing the quest with the armor: the town remains blue, and when I try to attack, the dialogue is the same as it was before completing the quest (if I arrive without the armor). The heroes coming out of it are hostile. Is this how it's supposed to be?
