Let me explain how I did it: Horses in the first slot, archers in the third, swordsmen in the sixth, and spearmen in the fourth. This arrangement is necessary to block the crossbowmen in the lower left corner. The horses and crossbowmen wait, the swordsmen move into position in the corner, the spearmen attack the gray stack, and the crossbowmen and horses move into the corner. The horses don't reach, so in the second round, the gray stack moves to the correct cell. The crossbowmen wait, the melee units kill the gray stack, and the horses block the crossbowmen in the next round. The remaining birds are shot down, and the meat tank takes the damage. It's all simple.
