At that time, the conversation wasn't about the player rating. Therefore, there was no other way to evaluate it at all. Players didn't have a rating as such. And how else could you compare six results with each other if the results of other players were not taken into account by definition?

The rating should take into account the results of all players in the tournament, which is what was proposed in the oscillator.
