Why the misunderstanding? They understand everything correctly. If a full double-elimination system and a best-of-5 final are played, the player who advanced from the winner's bracket starts with a 1-0 score as a bonus for not using their second chance.

Actually, this mechanic works in both best-of-3 and best-of-5, but here, as in previous Novice tournaments, the starting score is 0-0.

p.p.s. especially for the gifted Darkella, the point of a full double-elimination bracket is in the loser's bracket, not in the score ratio of the super final.
