I would like to note that almost all the games were really interesting and dynamic, with some unexpected twists and controversies. All this suggests that the blitz format for 2v2 is extremely successful. However, there were also some serious shortcomings in this tournament format. First of all, this is, of course, the group stage. As practice has shown, groups are completely unacceptable for 2v2 games, because half of the games in this format do not have any tournament significance, and it is quite difficult to gather four people for a casual game.
The second point I would like to note is the game version. The latest innovations in the HD mod make it almost playable, even from my conservative Warlords-oriented point of view. As the tournament experience has shown, a timer is a must in this format, and the time per turn was determined quite accurately, so that on the one hand, it does not drag out the game, and on the other hand, it does not turn it into a race. On average, it took us 5-8 hours per game, which, I agree, is a great real-time result, even for a 1v1 format?
The third point is the map. JC-l with weak monsters proved to be an extremely successful option! However, as the experience of 1v1 games shows, it is not worth sticking to one map, so in the next tournament, there will be a list of 2-3-4 maps.
So, let's summarize:
the next tournament in the 2v2 format will be held
a) on the HD+ version with a timer
b) using the double elimination system
c) on several maps
I hope the viewers enjoyed the tournament, and we promise a hot stream battle in the final
