I confirm. Sometimes you just have bad luck. I had a poor start with no money and no wood, and it got to the point where I didn't build anything for two days in week 2. The initial development seemed promising, but then things started to go wrong – I didn't get regeneration in the guild, there was no magic in the houses, and they never offered me a protection-granting item. Naturally, I didn't find the Everlight, and to top it all off, I was denied resurrection and didn't get the resurrection rune either. This total bad luck led to a decision to give up and the dwarf decided to surrender.
