For black dragons, there is such a wonderful unit as the behemoth. They are so strong that they are second only to BDs in terms of damage. This is despite the fact that their growth is two per week. Or it could be three (the funniest thing is that 3 beh. are cheaper than 1 dr.). In close combat, the black dragon loses to behemoths. And these big guys should soak up the retaliation (pity the poor livestock breeders, they won't survive the fire breath, but the hippos will tank it and continue to treat their enemies to heavy blows).
