A program for calculating the strength of the guard on random maps in Heroes of Might and Magic III, called H3CalcGuards.

I am currently playing a Jebus Cross tournament. I found a Pack Grizzly Bear in a refugee camp... I was all happy.... I look at a Pandora's Box, guarded by 20-49 regular Genies. I estimated in my head that there were around 20-25 of them, at most. I attacked, and there were 34... well, the bear stayed there. Gave 15k exp. I open the program, and it shows that there should be 18-30... The question is, why 34?
