Hi, I've been reading here occasionally, but I haven't had time to register.
Zirael, let me guess, the system used to be 32-bit when the game was launched, and now it's 64-bit? There's a chance that a mini-fix for d3d9.dll, which I posted on Google Drive, might help. It's also available here in the files/patches section for H5. And in any case, it's definitely worth patching the game to version 3.1, at least because this patch removes the disk check/protection, which can also cause problems in modern systems.
