3ds Max, blue versions, and other 3D products are just shells; the most important thing in such editors is the plugins. Even a complete novice can become a mega-super-duper 3D artist if they have a set of top-notch plugins. The same goes for Photoshop; if I remember correctly, there are about 5-10 thousand plugins for it.
P.S. I personally enjoy Cinema 4D; it feels more natural to me (even though it's made in Germany :D).

I'm also into 3D design. Right now, I'm trying to learn Cinema 4D. It's a very cool program. I recommend it to everyone! Unlike 3ds Max, it's easier to learn. I've only been using it for six months, and I've already managed to create a pretty good interior. However, I was disappointed with the conversion of models to Direct 3D. In general, I would like to continue learning 3ds Max. If you don't mind, could you give me a link to a self-study guide?
