Zhenya, I think even you didn't expect such a result given the state of affairs.
In the 2nd game, I was doing much better; on day 127 I rushed a Dragon Utopia, though I could have done it a day earlier — I somehow underestimated my stack of 16 unicorns with 150 HP each. Blue was only planning the Dragon Utopia for day 131, which meant a two-day advantage. A mistake with folder movement near the teleport sent me into a tilt, and instead of calmly realizing my advantage in control (there was also Mephala with 2 Dimension Doors and an army advantage) I decided to attack with the mage and was mercilessly beaten.
The 3rd game was the pinnacle of stupidity.
On day 112, from nothing, I imagined a significant deficit; instead of breaking through to a secondary town, I visited a Swan with Kyrre. And, as luck would have it, in the direction she was running, there was a scatter of treasure chests. By day 117, I somehow sorted it out, captured all the wood reinforcements, and Kyrre with Mephala bunk at the stables. Both with Earth Magic. Another day is spent on splitting and transporting to the war paths.
Then things went better — one collects Nagas, the other Griffin Conservatories / Dragon Fly Hives, which aren't small at all. And upon entering the treasure zone, Mephala sees a wonderful picture: Taz near a Dragon Fly Hive and a Pandora's Box with a clearly weaker army.
We take him under our wing, but Zhenya, as luck would have it, had something to buy himself out with (he later said he was in debt all game, but then got coins from Naga). We receive tribute for the ransom and calmly head for the Dragon Utopia. Kyrre & Co clean up the Dragon Fly Hives and the max Griffin Conservatory.
The Dragon Utopia gave a Tome of Air, Titan's Sword, and Helm of the Sixth. I run to another revealed one, but couldn't make it in time by one turn. There was a Tome of Water :smile44: At the entrance to the opponent's area, Pikedram was patrolling, and a cunning plan arose to sit in the opponent's town and recruit Mephala there.
The army and artifacts are brought to him; I estimate that I should reach, but what if the enemy army bunk in the town? Right from the teleport, it becomes visible that the army is right there, with Taz. But he's after the Dragon Utopia and will clearly ransom himself, and I chickened out on fighting — what if my oil gets countered by his Water or Air Magic.
I decide to run to the town.
And that's mistake number one. In the end, I was afraid I wouldn't reach, and made a couple of extra moves instead of Dimension Door. On the way, I had to encounter a scout hero, who would later decide the game. That's minus 50 movement points. And I do reach the castle. Mephala is standing outside. I kill her and a glitch occurs — THE TOWN REMAINS BLUE!!!!! At the time, I thought, well, maybe a hero without an army is sitting under Mephala (though what's the point of putting a scout in a dungeon on day 127). It turned out not. I'm short 5 moves to sit in the empty town, and the game is decided:mad: . I sell everything I have for gold and prepare to get hit.
Zhenya lets me off, and after losing 6 angels, a dozen dreamwalkers, and some minor units, I buy myself out.
And mistake number two. On day 132, I easily reached the town with the ranged unit, sending Taz to the tavern along the way. But instead, for some reason, I take the opponent's Dragon Utopia with the Tome of Water. Taz stood on the teleport, cutting me off from my Elves. And I, like a ram, didn't think to give Kyrre the book with Dimension Door.
Then more mistakes followed; I mixed up the treasure zones and jumped into the one I didn't intend to.
Well, and when I started to seriously lose in raw troops (Zhenya got a quick Town Portal, while I, as luck would have it, had no one with Fire Magic), I sat in his capital. And then the predictable move — a kamikaze with Armageddon and the finishing blow by Taz.
Thanks for the games.
I do not confirm this.
After the discussion, I suggested to Roma a rematch of the decisive game.
