It's simpler than that – a boor will always remain a boor, whether drunk or sober. A reasonable person maintains self-control whether drunk or sober. Alcohol simply reveals a person's true nature. And if, under the influence of alcohol, a person's true nature is revealed to be unpleasant, it will sooner or later emerge even without alcohol.

I disagree. I personally know several people who are significantly affected by alcohol and transform from normal, reasonable people into unrestrained boors. And such people exist in all social classes. And you are wrong about the "dirt" that comes out; it's not dirt, it's the lack of inhibitions and a sudden surge of self-confidence. Alcohol has the property of influencing these things.
