Isn't 3 weeks a bit much? I think 2 weeks is more than enough. Personally, I'd even suggest one.
With only one week per game, at least half of the roster would fail to meet the deadlines in every round. Two weeks is tolerable, but if several tournaments are played in parallel, it can be tough. And 3 weeks is almost always enough if a player truly wants to play.
And which castles should be deployed? There are 8 players, and only 9 castles in total. Which castle should be ignored? Decide by drawing lots?

It is possible to play in both branches—a kind of multi-participation (it seems this hasn't been used in tournament practice yet).
