I believe that the Haven is the weakest faction because its units aren't particularly strong, and its life magic doesn't contain any combat spells. Also, there's almost no defense against them (except for Escort, and even that only removes negative spells), so it's not very useful.
Well, not exactly... it depends on the player's skill... I personally used to crush my friends in online and Hotseat games with Haven just for fun!
