Regarding the execution of Torian: the execution, ordered personally by Adda for treason, suggests that the executed individual did not belong to Haven. And he couldn't have belonged to the Salamanders due to his role. Plus, Mays's last words:

-I don't hold a grudge against you, Geralt,- Mays said with his last strength,-you did what you had to do. But now you are alone, alone against all these creatures. Don't falter.

Perhaps this indicates that Mays is on the same side as the witcher. So, I believe Torian was a neutral character. This is purely based on the description of the execution; I haven't read the first day yet.
