I decided to play this map again (I played it a couple of months ago as Hafiz). Of course, the map deserves the highest praise (as has been noted repeatedly), but I would like to clarify some nuances. This time, I started as the Overlord, on Easy Veteran, and at first, I was puzzled as to why his starting army was so weak, but after using "Hell Wave," everything fell into place. The only problem is that this wave is confusing: it costs 5 mana, but mana is never actually spent; its damage ABSOLUTELY does not depend on magic (to check, I bought druids in the mercenary camp and turned them into blue "allies"; the magic bonus was 8 units, but the damage remained at 250 :( ). Naturally, at the beginning, this wave is a very useful thing (running around with a small stack of imps and splitting them into single units allows you to defeat almost all the early-game enemies), but later it becomes practically useless. Using the save/load method, it was also discovered that it does not affect creatures that are immune to fire and demons. Heroes from the Rune Path can also be found in the tavern (not all of them, but only those with standard names, such as Ibbu, Garuna). For me, their only advantage was that they had artifacts that could be sold (and some were taken). I would like to discuss the Lawgiver separately. The author wants to make him invincible, but this is a challenge for every player, like a red rag to a bull. And if the author hasn't "tampered" with the scripts (as he seemed to threaten), then he can be defeated in a "fair" way (without using the console), even if he has 1000 dragons. For example, slightly improve Nikitatigr's tactics. Take the main hero as a mentor and develop many heroes with mandatory skills: attack (tactics), defense (fight to the last), luck (soldier's luck). Although I haven't attacked the Lawgiver yet, maybe he also has tactics; then it will take a little longer, but if not, it will be worse for him. Give each "kamikaze" the following set: 5 Death Knights in front (from the Cave of Peace) and 2 Mummies in the back (tombs near the Orcish outpost) - and forward. Even the Mask of Justice probably won't be needed when the Lawgiver's army is reduced to a ridiculous size; just finish him off with the main hero. I also want to try a "dishonest" way, actually using the author's own weapon. The fact is that I have the NHF build 48 mod installed, and recently a cheating hero, Aglion, appeared in the tavern (those who have tested this mod will understand :D ). I want to see if I can surprise the Lawgiver with millions of imps :smile51:
